"We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Handmade gift for Mothers Day

Do you need a quick, easy and funky idea for a handmade mothers day gift? How about these fun fabric covered necklaces?

I bought the twine necklaces from Spotlight (pack of 3 for $3). Thread wooden beads onto the twine necklace. Make a tube of fabric to fit your beads snugly. You do this by folding your strip of fabric (about 3.5'' wide) lengthwise and sewing along the raw edge before turning right side out. Slip the beads and necklace into fabric tube. Tie embroidery floss tightly in between each bead. Cut each end of the fabric so there is just enough to stuff into the hole of the beads on the end. Secure with a bit of hot glue. And there you have it!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL THE MUMS! (especially mine!!)
